The breaks on The Hive singles are amazing, they bring me to tears. I have found a new favorite Oliver track within the singles. I had to take the trouble to special order my records at a store in Chicago, but it was well worth the effort. Oliver has always been one of the pioneers of trance music, and I think he does a lovely job of exploring new musical territory with the new album. I absolutely adore the ambience of Into Deep, but love the darker side of the Black album. The Hive has the best of both, but takes it a few steps further. Oliver is an artist that never ceases to amaze, and never creates the expected. While some may complain that he is working on too many "commercial remixes", they may take the time to note that Oliver has worked on hundreds of records and his other projects have never hindered the quality of his own releases.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, even if they don't agree with mine. So I appoligize in adavance for feeling the need to defend my favorite producer. But in Chicago where an Oliver record is a rare find, I try to hang on to every last note he puts into his songs.
